How do I get my business started, or should you even start it?
What is it going to take to attract enough customers?
Can I earn a living while I build my business?
I remember a lot of sleepless nights as a businessperson, watching awful late-night shows or driving around in the middle of the night hoping I was going to find some answer. It was a desperate and lonely feeling. It sure seemed like no one could relate and even if they could, they couldn’t provide anything of value.
Those late night drives were a long time ago. I’ve been in business now in some form or another for over 30 years, since I was 15. I’ve learned a lot about business- some the hard way.
There’s something important you should know about being in business…
Is it always fun? Maybe not, but it can be.
I’m sure you’ve heard the story about the ship captain in a late night storm who sees the light of another ship directly in his path. He signals them to alter their course to avoid a collision. The other ship signals back, “No, you alter your course.” The captain gets furious and signals “You must alter your course.” The signal comes back, “No, we will not alter course.” Even more furious the captain signals “I’m the captain of a huge tanker- alter your course now!” The other signals back “We’re a lighthouse.”
Ignite Your Business is your lighthouse.

Have business be fun again!
I have a confession: I love business. I love the business part of business. In a sense it doesn’t even matter what the business is. I just really love business. And I know it’s not that way for most people.
Most people go into business because something they loved to do inspired them. They may be very well trained at the thing or service they have to offer the world.
But they have very little or no training in how to build, sustain or expand their business.
And that’s a huge aspect of being in business.
Fact: 63% percent of businesses fail within 5 years
(most earlier than that)
It’s rarely the service or the craft or the product being provided that fails.
The source of failure is a lack of business training.
A coaching client of mine shared with me that during her 5-year graduate program (after the bachelor’s degree), in a professional service field in which she would be a provider, only 1% of course-work was dedicated to business training.
In so many ways people get set up to fail in the business world.
In over 30 years of business I’ve seen and experienced a lot of successes and failures. I published a book at the age of 15 and by the time I was 40, I was the CEO and owner of a company with over 60 employees, with much more experience in between and since. I’ve gotten and given a lot of training in all those years in business.
Some of the training I received was really powerful, both in and out of college, but it also cost thousands of dollars.
But a lot of the training I got was from succeeding and failing. As you may know, or can guess, the price tag of failing can be huge. My biggest failure was the large six-figures kind of failure. And when I dealt with all the aftermath I could see all the invaluable gifts and lessons.
THE GOOD NEWS: You get to benefit from this without the pain or cost.
Just one piece of the workshop is worth the entire tuition.
What if you walked away with a clear set of marketing tactics that were the best fit for your business and your resources? That would be worth well over $997.
Why? Most businesses are me-to marketers. They do what other people in the market are doing whether it makes sense or not. And who are they mimicking? 85% chance it’s someone whose business is failing! So that marketing program you’re thinking about may cost a lot more than $997 and do little to build your business.
To have fun at what you do and make money doing it.
To experience your passion for what you do.
To have clarity and focus about what you do and why you do it.
To have breakaway performance.
A little secret- my staff gets really mad at me for offering this workshop at $397because the value is off the hook. They’ve all spent a whole lot more and gotten a whole lot less- maybe like you- numerous times. My purpose is to make the difference for as many businesspeople as possible. It’s what I’m here on this planet to do.
